What is the difference between a PROCESS SERVER vs LEGAL MESSENGER?

                A Legal Messenger is a service provided to law firms, typically transporting legal documents, files or evidence often between a lawyer and the court or between law offices.

                A Process Server is the term for the delivery of legal documents i.e. a Summons, Petition, Complaint, Writ, Subpoena, Notice of Small Claim, Unlawful Detainer, restraining order or other any other legal documents to the opposing party in a lawsuit or legal action.

                Service of process is the procedure by which a party to a lawsuit gives an appropriate notice of initial legal action to another party (such as a Defendant/Respondent), court, or administrative body in an effort to exercise jurisdiction over that person so as to enable that person to respond to the proceeding before the court, body, or other tribunal.

                Notice is effected by delivering a true and correct set of copies of the court documents to the opponent, by an uninterested third party, who is not a party to the action.

                This is where we come in.  Professional licensed Process Servers are the uninterested third party, an essential component to ensure legal documents are served correctly and timely to the opposing party, complete with notifying the court with a "Return of Service document" that lets the court know service has been completed.
